I missed the strong iced Thai coffee from the older days and thought this style of brewing should be very close. I must say that I am very happy and the brews have been strong and flavorful, reminiscent of the old days. You do need to be patient with the process as the drip is slow. The instructions are clear and easy to follow, with photos of each step. I will say that I did not measure out 30 ml for wetting the grinds, just eyeballing it, but it all worked. You would do well to use the recommended coffee, Trung Nguyen, and sweetened condensed milk also.This set is the only one I looked at that had a screw on tamper (they call it screw down insert), which does a good job of packing the grinds tight for the drip process. I do not have the other tamper style of pushing down on the grinds, so I cannot say if there is any difference. The quality of the set is very good.
