We have a 10-cup Chemex that has been sitting in the cupboard for years because the reusable fabric filters (first two photos) didn't work for us. First, they left a strange taste to the coffee, no matter how many times I washed them or made the coffee. Second, they would kind of vacuum shut against the glass which made the water take FOREVER to filter through the coffee. Since we use a reusable metal filter in our drip coffee maker, I went on the lookout for a filter for the Chemex and found this one.I can't tell you how happy we are! As you can see from the last two photos, it fits perfectly and looks pretty good. Personally, I wish it was about 0.5"-1" taller or had a little handle to make it easier to get it out, but it really isn't that big of a deal. I'm really happy that it fits so well.It seems to be well made, although I always handle things as gently as I can. It's made of fine mesh which, I'd assume, could be bent or dented easily. I treat it carefully and it still looks brand new even after more than a month of daily use.Also, it makes a great carafe of coffee! I was a little worried because some people said there wasn't enough room for the amount of coffee needed for the 10-cup carafe. I'm not sure if we're using enough coffee, but we seem to be -- the man of the house likes strong coffee and he says it tastes great.One thing is that we need to grind our coffee a little coarser -- with the finer grind of our coffee, after about 5 carafes, the filter started to get plugged up between the two layers of screen/mesh. The only way to clean between the two layers is to either run through a dishwasher or run under high pressure water. Once it's cleaned out, it works great! Again, a thicker grind could probably solve this problem almost altogether.I highly recommend this for the 10-cup Chemex -- the coffee it makes tastes great and brews at a much quicker pace than the fabric filters. Also, you can see that it looks decent (if that's important to you) and I think it's going to prove itself to be pretty durable. I'm very happy with this purchase!
