My 10 year old bought this for himself after learning about circuits at school. This is a great set. He has really enjoyed going through the workbook that comes with it and creating the circuits with all the various components. The only negative I would say, was that it was a bit of a shock (to both of us) how small this package is when it arrives. The images are very deceiving and for the price, we expected a much bigger package. Also, wish it had the motor component, which we'll have to buy separately.Great product & great invention! But the pen is not responsive & giving me the hard time!I have to draw the circuit twice and trice before it connects!Pen did not work out of the box. The instructions suggest an array of things such as shaking pen, tapping tip, writing on a wet paper towel, etc. Eventually did draw a simple circuit which did not work. (Components did work when wired together-->problem is the pen ink). A ripoff! The pen did not work when it arrived. Contacted the company and they offered to send a new pen. We have waited over a month now, and still no pen. They have also stopped responding to my emails.Has great promise but a couple of the circuits don't work, which is frustrating for kids. When you factor the nonfunctioning components into the cost, it makes this kit expensive. I wouldn't recommend it. My husband in an EE so we definitely tested it for user error, they just didn't work.I purchased this as the only gift for my sons birthday. The pen barely writes and it is not conductive so the circuits do not complete and work. Kinda suck total birthday fail just now and with covid I can just go run to the store and pick him out something else as a gift. ?The circuits sometimes where not dependable. Not sure if the pen was putting out think enough silver. Sometimes the circuit would work but then an hour later would work.Did not work at all. Appears as if the power module is defective since even connecting it directly to one of the LED modules (bypassing the use of any ink) did not cause the LEDs to light up. Tried swapping 9v battery for a new one and tried multiple modules in case the LED was defective, but the whole kit is dead in the water. Very disappointing to sit down with your child and try to start working through these only to be shut down cold by a defective product. Great idea, terrible execution.Great teaching aidWas a gift for my 12 yr son. He really enjoys it. Everything works and is fun to watch him explore.Fun and intuitive! A great way to get started as a maker. My son played this until I ran out of ink. Pretty cool toy
