Clean your coffee pot and filter often to improve your coffee taste.Cleans the dirtiest systems. Restores functionality to coffee maker's brewing function improving final product. This stuff does an amazing job of removing built up coffee oils and stains from all your coffee making equipment. Our maker has an insulated metal carafe which was literally black inside. When I ran this solution through a cycle, as soon as the water had all been processed the inside of the carafe looked like muddy water with chunks. Flushed it out and bright and shines as new. You leave your filter basket on while flushing, but after the cycle is complete, remove the basket, and reusable filter if you use one, and pour the used solution into the basket while in you sink. Let it set a bit and rinse. Not only makes your equipment look new again, you will notice an improvement in the flavor of your coffee. Great stuff.I was shocked at how much better the coffee tasted after running a packet through my drip brewer. It even removed coffee stains inside the brew basket, and based on the flavor change, the old coffee oils they contained. I regularly clean with vinegar but it’s obviously not enough. My local stores sell these as a single pack, at 2x the price.I come from a household of heavy coffee drinkers and we never used cleaning powders. It wasn't until my early twenties when I was still living with my folks that I noticed the coffee quality went down one day and did some research and read about running vinegar and water thru the system may help, which I did, and it helped. After that, my dad was on board with the occasional run through of that, so that was a start. After I moved out I always had cheap and or cheap second hand coffee makers and would do the simple maintenance more often, even occasionally buying a descaler too. But still nothing terribly consistent.Fast forward to last year. I'm a man in his late 30's and found a coffee maker I know and love. My beloved Bodum semi-automatic french press gave up the ghost after a few years of trusty service and after much research I bought the coffee maker of my dreams, that I'd had my eye on for a few years, the Technivorm Moccamaster, much to my wife's chagrin, that is, until she had a cup. Then she was on board. Now, being that I had invested the money into getting a consistently fantastic cup of coffee, I wanted to keep the machine in tip top shape. Was surprised to see and even taste a difference after using this product in my coffee maker after just a few months of moderate use.So if this stuff can help a great coffee maker be greater it certainly can help an average, decent, or good coffee maker be better.I've been using this on our Rancilio Silvia for a few years now. They changed the box, but the product appears to be the same. It's actually fairly fun to use this stuff, although it is somewhat nasty too... Why? This cleaner is designed to remove coffee oils and residue (it's not much of a descaler, for that try dezcal). Running pure water through our 'dirty' machine, yields slightly tainted water... not too bad, but pure water demonstrates that the machine is dirty, but clearly does not do much to clean the machine. Enter Cleancaf. The moment the first bit of cleancaf solution exits the machine is obvious. The water goes from 'clean' to Nasty!!!! And it stays nasty for quite some time. All of that nasty, is old coffee oil and bean residue. It's amazing just how much 'nasty' comes out. Granted, if I wasn't so lazy and did this more than once every 6 month or so, maybe it wouldn't be so dramatic. But I suppose it's part of the fun! (Something you can look forward to, if you're lazy like me!) One the machine is clean, the water exiting the machine is crystal clear. How do I know all of the detergent is out? I run it until the water exiting the machine does not exhibit any persistent suds or bubbles. Oh, for reference, we pull at least 6 shots daily. At least. Daily. Every day.Pros: Cleans our espresso machine like a champ. It's actually fun and rewarding to see how much this cleans the machine!Cons: It is actually disturbing just how much gunk comes out sometimes, but I suppose that's not Cleancaf's fault.Summary: This is a great product for cleaning a coffee/espresso machine - Not necessarily the best descaler.I received absolutely nothing in exchange for this review. If the review helped you, please click 'helpful'. Thanks for reading!Moccamaster was starting to run sluggish and make weird noises, and the coffee wasn't tasting so good. Bought this cleaning powder along with the Urmex Descaler liquid, and they worked like a charm. Now the coffee maker runs like it's brand new and makes great-tasting coffee again. This is an absolute must for any coffee-lover, especially if you own a high-quality coffeemaker - it's worth the few bucks to keep it nice! Using a coffee maker for too long without cleaning it can actually cause it to stop working, so don't neglect it!Decent product and does a nice job on my drip coffee makerSaw this product recommended by Tecnivorm/Moccamaster to clean out their coffee makers and saw the glowing reviews here, so decided to purchase. I've clearly been a negligent owner of this machine because despite regularly descaling it with powder over the years and then running cycles with pure vinegar to (I thought) give it a decent cleaning, this filled my coffee pot with brown water *just after* descaling it. Gone are years of brown residue both in the drip-over arm as well as the brew basket after just a single use, and as an added bonus, I poured that pot of brown solution into my stainless travel coffee mug that had also been stained brown over the years... after letting it sit for five minutes and then just giving it a light scrub with a dishcloth, BAM, essentially as good as new, as shown in the pic. So yeah, I'm a believer in this product!Easy to use and returns stainless carafes back to like shiny-new.
