If you are looking to add an element of class to that 20 ounce glass of wild turkey you end the day with this ice ball is for you!I got it for my dad as an xmas present, after I took him to Gordon Ramsay Steak where he got one in his snifter of Brandy and he demanded that he have one or my trust fund would be cut off. Since my many servants are incapable of usingthe internet I had to order it for him myself- I had my sleeves rolled up for me, adjusted my monocle and fired up my personal computing device. When I looked on Amazon it turned out there were many similar such products and a wider internet search showed similar products online for as much as 1600 dollars (check williams sonoma). Since generally I enjoy wasting money frivilously I was inclined to ignore this cheaper amazon product. A few factors changed my mind.First, the glass has a small bump in the bottom that makes swirling your drink around the ice ball much easier. Since I often find myself limp wristed after a long day of whipping servants or self congradulatory erotic flagulation this ease of use appealed to me greatly.Second, the mold itself is much easier to use and take apart then other models - so easy even a child working in one of my many factories can use it without getting coal dust all over my ice ball.In closing, if the bile building in the back of your throat at talk of raising the minimum wage or "obamacare" can only be quenched by a chilled , nay, ice cold beverage (or if you just need balls of ice to throw at servants) this isthe product for you!CheersSeriously, I saw this and had to have one ... and order a few for my friends. When the item arrived, I immediately started to freeze the ice and waited impatiently for the first drink. It was AWESOME! I realize that this word is overused in our society, but in this instance, I forgive myself.I have never felt more like I embody the esthetic of a Bond villan more in my life. I just need a shaved cat and one of those high-back leather swivel chairs and I'm in.If I had to nitpick about anything, it would be that this is a lot of ice for scotch purists. However, the ice does last fairly longer than chipped ice, so if you're into drinking your drink quicker and not nursing it, you'll be fine. All in all, I love it.Gave as a gift for my husband since he likes to drink whiskey on the rocks. Nice glass and the ice mold is great. Only dislike is that the ice ball sits so high that you need to make a double or triple before liquor even touchs the ice. So we let the ice ball melt a little and empty water before adding liquor. This is my favorite glass to drink from when I’m drinking whiskey on a big rock. I found it entertaining to be able to roll the ball around and know that it’s cooling down my drink.I got this for my boyfriend and he loves it. The glass is super-thin! It's the kind of glass you don't put in the sink (because if a fork hit it you'd have shattered glass all over your sink). That's the only reason it didn't get 5 stars for me. Scotch glasses should be a little thicker... But it's wine balloon thin...However - the iceball is easy and fun to make and it's fun to drink out of (so 4 stars) :)We loved these - till we went to put the ice in the first glass - my fiance handed me the glass and the ice ball had cracked the glass - Tip: place the ice ball in the glass VERY gently - we still have the other one but had to toss the first glass. The classes are beautiful and a nice weight to hold and swirl but not be weak. The single round ice cube form also works well, I would argue better than the silicone ones for getting a really round shape. They are also packed really well in their own cardboard receptable that provides protection and easy place to store if you don't use them a ton. I have not used them yet so can't comment on the swirling but I am excited to and as I said they look great!Honestly we got this to use as a prop in a homework assignment for my daughters college class. She had to advertise a product produced in our state and needed an eye-catching glass to put the product into. The glass looked amazing in the photo's, just amazing. The downfall is we only needed for one day since nobody in my home is a drinker, and the price point is crazy high. Even if I were a drinker I wouldn't recommend this product simply because of the price. It is just too much to ask for one glass. When it arrives and you open it up you are very impressed with the product itself. Looks like a great idea however in practice just doesn't work out. Threw the mold straight into the freezer and was looking forwards to a nice bit of grouse on the rocks. After about 5 hours when I took the ice out of the mood rather than being as spherical as shown the is a big ring that sticks out, almost like an equatorial line on a globe. This is where the centre of the mold lied. Poured the whisky and within ten minutes it was too diluted for my taste, have tried this again since with everything chilled beforehand in the hope of it working but still does not take long to melt. Overall I cannot say I was overly impressed, looks lovely but dilutes the whisky too much to my taste. The ice cube maker makes spheres far too big that by time they have melted to a reasonable size the flavour is diluted, I am not against this but I am aware there are others that dislike such from occurring. I find the tip works as a good measurement and the glass is big enough to make it mixed. The product is fairly priced for what you get.Got this fory cousin who is a whisky drinker and particular about his whisky and glass really loved this xThis is a great gift set but the QA on this product is shocking. I bought a set of two and we had to return them 3 times before we had a set where the glass was flawless. Many had bubbles in the glass or they didn't sit flat on the table. In every case there was a horrid smell and greasiness on the glasses which took a while to remove by hand washing. It's a real shame that they've let standards slide as I would have been happy to a few quid more to avoid the hassle of returning them.nice for whisky
