Everyone complimented and asked where did I find it?? I also purchased a pop corn machine and together they compliment any snack area. When I found this Nostalgia piece, I got excited about making new memories with my family and friends. I admit that when the snow cone machine arrived, its small size and flimsy plastic door made me doubt its ability. I have only used it during one family gathering, but so far I am pleased with the overall results. It was a ,crowd pleaser. It is also easy to use and clean. It takes up little space on the kitchen counter. Be gentle with the little plastic door and it will be a family favorite for you too.If I was to only get one use out of it... it is worth it. However, I believe that it will be my families favorite for many more occasions to come!My grands loved this little machine. They all made themselves many many snow cones over the summer! Great, well worth buy!item works great as advertised. I think it's over-sized, it takes too much space considering I don't shave that much ice. plastic case is weak, most parts are plastic. I should have bought the metal ice shaver which is smaller in size and more durable. because the clear case has s small door and can't be removed, it's very hard to clean it or dry it off after each use. if I purchased a smaller unit that doesn't come with a case, it would be easier to clean and easier to use. I could hardly fit my small hands inside the door to retrieve the ice, so if you have bigger hands you may struggle a little bit to remove the ice. I have an ice maker which produces smaller cubes of ice,and it works fine using smaller cubes. I have not tried the unit on larger cubes. The ice shaving is fine, and not coarse as shown in the picture of the product. I don't think you can use over sized ice cubes or pucks. I have seen other smaller units on amazon that allows you to use larger pucks of ice, where you can freeze water in a bowl and use one large piece of ice however you can't do that with this units. I would definitely not purchase again, and I would purchase a smaller unit, that would allow me to use larger ice pucks, so I just have to wait until it breaks so I can buy a different ice shaverDespite seeming a bit flimsy for the job, this product worked very well...for less than 2 months. It wasn't used for the first month after purchase in November as it was a Christmas gift. After that it was used to make 1-2 bowls of ice every 2nd or 3rd day. It was never used for more than the suggested time and always had plenty of time to cool down. And yet the motor still burnt out. Amazon could not help as the return window had closed.Though the machine does have a manufacturer's warranty for 1 year, the makers, Nostalgia, still have yet to even send me an acknowledgment email about my concern, let alone any offer of a fix. Their website was not very intuative and they do not offer a toll-free number to call. Terrible customer service. The product is obviously not worth the money even if this was a fluke as the company does not bother to deal with customer concerns. I would not suggest this brand of products to anyone and I will NEVER buy it again.We have had it a few days now and so far we are loving it! It works awesome! Only downside is it is really really loud other then that it makes the ice almost like snow and works awesome!Bought this for my son for his birthday. It is easy to use. Just fill it with ice and turn it on. Takes a couple of minutes to shave up enough ice for two large snow-cones. The ice is nice and fine.
