Haven’t used the product just annoying the packaging information is not accurateLove it that I can make a soft cheese so fast.I haven't tried any of the flavored cheeses yet, but love the regular cows milk cheese. Stir it up to crumble and it's so good with scrambled eggs.So easy to make. The ending result was not what I expected. The product was easy to use. The directions were not as clear as I had hoped. I tried it twice and may or may not use it again. More of a novelty item for me. Uses a LOT of milk and I am not interested in learning how to use the whey. I tried it using vinegar and again with Yogurt. The yogurt came out only slightly better even though I added salt this time for at least a little flavor. I did not get the creamy consistency I was hoping for. The cheese was more crumbly than I expected and very bland in both cases. It was, to me, like eating dried out cottage cheese. I tried to find more recipes online using this product and could not find any. I think the instruction booklet paid more attention to different languages than to clearer instructions or more recipes. I liked that it made a small amount of cheese, especially since I ended up wasting (in my opinion) so much milk. The expense of the ingredients and the ending result caused me to think I will just buy my cheese at the supermarket from now on. It was fun to see how milk could become cheese, and I can see how families with children may get a kick out of letting their kids see how cheese can be made from scratch. So? Been thinking about "making cheese"? Here's your chance to get YOUR FEET WET...so to speak! Although the process is simple, IT DOES take a little effort to get a good "product". As the instructions state "pressing the cheese" with a spoon in NO way gets rid of the access water! I have added a "brick" and a "plastic container" from sour cream. Placing the container on top of your cheese and THEN the brick on top of that. Over Night in the fridge SEEMS to be the trick. I'm still playing with the different ingredients for flavor. I KNOW it will never be "cheddar" OR "feta" BUT a tablespoon of "taco seasoning" OR "fajita seasoning" works WONDERS!!! Oh...and GREAT on Pizza!!!Bought the Lekue cheese-making kit when on a kitchen-gadget-buying spree. It's currently the most-used item in that batch -- believe it or not, the inner basket works to capture curds effectively while letting the whey slip through. Two use tips:1) Feel free to calibrate the power required, because microwaves are individual. We're running this on 700W rather than 800W and it works fine.2) We add salt and herbs/spices to the acid--that tends to give us better consistency with both the curds and flavoring.UPDATE:We're cheapskates and have discovered another trick: if we use reconstituted milk (which works, even for nonfat), you don't need to reconstitute it to the correct dilution for milk, because the cheese from it will only use the protein. So we use half the water and get the same cheese, but with less whey and fewer (okay, almost no) microwave spills/boilovers.Perfect size for 1gal milk ricotta cheese. It keeps draining all time and cheese is not seated in a puddle of liquidUnbelievable how quickly this product makes cheese! I made fresh ricotta to make a stuffed pasta recipe. Fresh lemon juice or vinegar or yogurt are combined with whole milk that has been microwaved in the Lekue base, and within 30 minutes, curds have formed. Pour it into the strainer/Mold that comes with it, (& I saved the whey when I drained it), refrigerate, and an hour later the cheese is formed--or chill longer. I contacted Lekue as I had some questions. Apparently a Lekue cheese maker recipe book will come out this fall for more than the 4 recipes that come with the instructions. I am using the whey byproduct in making bread and cooking grains.Absolutely love this for making kefir cheese!I use a unbleached coffee filter in it, fits perfectly. So much better then my old set up.I'm definitely going to try some of the recipes from the book soon! Probably one of the expensive ones on Amazon but was drawn to it as it came with a lid and also a container to capture any liquid draining from either cheese or yogurt curds. Downside is that it doesn’t come with a muslin cloth or bag which is something essential in my opinion. Fortunately I had one already. Tried this with some yogurt first time round, to see if it was easy to convert into a thick Greek-style yogurt. Left it overnight in the fridge in the muslin cloth whilst sitting in the basket of this system. No problem whatsoever. I’m guessing you could manage with just the basket mould, your own container and a universal lid if this price is out of range but when I worked out the pricing, the basket mould retails between £5 - 10 depending on size and a container that would hold the basket above the water line would be a struggle to find.It does look like it’s quite sturdy and was easy to clean.Super easy to use. Very simple and the cheese is delicious.1st you need to feel with milk the white container until the line. Put in the microwave for 12" at 800w.After this time just need to add lemon (you have also the measure for this on the lid).Mix everything with a spatula and leave for 30"After this time you need to put the mix on the green basket to remove the water. After this I like to add salt and Italian herbs. Mix this with a spoon and at the same time I scrunched the cheese with the spoon to be more compact.Put the lid on and storage on the fringe until is very cold. The result is amazing. My recommendation is to use a slice of corn bread toasted with olive oil and then put this cheese. Awwww is so lovely and yummy. This is super simple, yummy and healthy.100% recommended :)There isn't anything I dislike about the machine, I only use it for making cheese, witch is a sort of cheese we eat in my Country and isn't sold in the UK. I can't say anything about making yogurt.
