I've been using a large George Foreman grill for years, and since I only used the grilling plate, the coating was wearing off. I didn't want to spend over $100 for another one like it, especially since I don't use it all that often and, living alone, I don't need a large one, so I gave this a try.The first thing I used it for was to grill a hot dog - which came our perfectly. The plates are easy to remove and insert, and to my surprise, I've been using the others as well, which I didn't do with the Foreman - possibly because these are smaller, and fit into one of those plastic shoe boxes, so I can easily store them on a shelf next to the appliance unlike the large Foreman ones which got buried in a drawer and were a nuisance to dig out. The waffles came out great, although it was a bit of a pain to clean the waffle plates because of the deep grooves. I was skeptical about the omelet plates, but eggs cooked in them came out perfectly - I wouldn't really call the result an omelet, since you put the ingredients on top of the egg mixture so they're not actually folded between layers of cooked egg, but the results were tasty. The sandwich plates are nice for grilled cheese, or even pizzas - just put some sauce, cheese, and whatever "toppings" you want in the machine along with some sandwich bread.All-in-all I'm very pleased with this purchase, and you can't beat the price! I do see there are other models with different plates; it would be great if they were available for sale separately, as I'm sure I'd use them.
