I own many espressos pots. I made espresso for BF 36 years ago and accidentally put in American coffee. Ooops. But u know how sometimes good things happen by accident. From that day on I used an espresso pot for a single cup of coffee. Recently wanted to get a bigger coffee pot so when I make coffee I can make 2-3 cups of American coffee at one shot. Put in a thermos and have hot coffee when I wanted. I came across this. It’s aluminum. I was hoping to find a stainless steel one but I couldn’t locate one. 22 Oz makes 3 American cups of coffee. I use a chock full of nuts scoop that I have had for years. I did measure out for just 2 cups of coffee and put two scoops. It’s perfect, taste great. My only complaint is the filter basket. The rim of the basket could have had a drop more lip to be able to grab it with my fingers. Now I have to tilt it a bit it be able to grab it. With my other pots I can grab it with my fingers. they found a way to skimp a drop on the material. the company needs to redesign the filter lip to make it easier to grab. Love my pot.Love this little thing purchased "like new" at a discount. Great for a quick espresso shot any time you like, or add hot water for an Americano. Thus far I've only tried Bialetti and a very cheap China-made IMUSA, take a guess which one works better as per coffee making and flavor.Yes, I said flavor, you wouldn't expect it would be that much of a difference but a Moka pot that pushes the coffee out efficiently will come out tasting better than one that slowly sputters and spatters the coffee into the upper chamber. You might pay more, but you will not be sorry with a Bialetti.I wanted to wait until I used my Bialetti a couple of days before providing my feedback/review. I’ve been searching for some time (okay, not actively) to find just the right coffee system that would fulfill my need. I’ve spent money on trying many as well as spending money in coffee shops. I now feel it’s safe to say I’ve found the one for “me.” I’m a 1 cup a day coffee drinker, and it has to be good. I need one to help lift the fog in the morning, and this Bialetti provides this need. It’s both easy prep as well as clean-up afterward. In addition, the coffee is excellent. So, I hope my “me” will be yours or somewhere close therein for anyone else looking. It's certainly worth the money.I bought this pot 2 years ago and it's been amazing. After two years, the gasket started to warp, and a few weeks ago, it bubbled and melted onto the pot. I tried to remove it every way I could, but to no avail. So I needed to get a new moka pot. Unfortunately it's doubled in price. I think it's still worth it. My only other issue is, after trying to remove the sticky gasket with various cleaners, the safety release valve has rusted. I don't think that's supposed to happen? The rest of the pot seemed fine, but I didn't like the idea of rust touching my coffee, so I am buying a new one.Love the larger model. Easy to use. Very versatile, I can even take camping. Awesome espresso maker.tl;dr- The one to get for just for one person( one cup . I like it fresh :D )- The closest I could get to my office espresso machine with limited space- Did not really want to invest so much in an espresso machine. Considering if some one drinks less coffee, I would definitely not want to have a big microwave size machine sitting on my counter.- If you love to drink coffee, don't want to get the espresso machine, still want some good coffee, get it.- IF YOU HATE MEASURING YOUR COFFEE, STILL WANT COFFEE, GET THISSS.- I hate measuring coffee because it feels like a science experiment or baking when I start measuring. :x- The one-cup version will look like/feel like a toy if you have big hands but it works great.- tldr became too big.- I am sorry- Last thing, JUST GET A MOKA POT AND COFFEE FROTHER AND YOU HAVE GOOD COFFEE AT HOME ON A BUDGET AND A SETUP THAT WONT TAKE A LOT OF SPACE. TRY SWITCHING COFFEE BLEND TILL YOU FIND WHAT WORKS FOR YOU. ( You should probably be using espresso grind or just a little course than that. )I really really like Coffee...... but not the one I make at home. Before the moka pot, I tried aeropress, french press, drip ,french press ... Basically a few things which I could find that were cheap and did not take much space in my tiny house.During quarantine, I am drinking way more coffee at home and I really want a good cup of coffee every day.Earlier, I used to make all my coffee at office using their fancy-ass espresso machine. It was intimidating at first but I once asked one of the office staff who was cleaning the machine to teach me how to use it. It was the best 5-minute training I have ever had. I was consistently able to make the coffee shop like coffee ( at least close to that). Now that I am drinking more coffee at home, I just couldn't find something that would match the espresso machine. So far, Moka pot is the only thing that has worked for me.Also, this is the one to get if need it for A SINGLE PERSON.also, you are not really supposed to half fill or something and try to make less coffee in a bigger moka pot.QUICK TUTORIAL THAT WORKS FOR ME (Might not for you):- Boil some water in the microwave in a glass till it boils- Fill the Moka pot till the water level hits the round valve.- Fill the funnel with coffee lightly packed. Don't overfill.- Screw on the top properly. If some water leaks the first time on stove, tighten it more.- Put the Moka pot on a stove top (Medium heat) with lid open. Keep it on the edge of the burner to avoid burning/getting the handle hot.- Take it off heat when the coffee stream is thin and blonde.- Add whatever you drink it with. I add some steamed milk.( COFFEE GRIND/TYPE IS IMPORTANT. I found that one of the coffee gave me very watered down results whereas the other one gave me great results. As far as I know, you are supposed to use good espresso ground or just a little course than that. I can't remember the name but I will update the review with the exact one that worked for me later. Till then, try a few)Ditch those ideas of purchasing an expensive espresso machine. This little Moka Pot brews amazing espresso and requires very little clean up. I highly recommend this product for any serious coffee lover☕Quick heating up, easy to clean, the taste get better every time! Ended up being too small (only about a half cup of coffee so I returned). Second order I got 2 6 cup models. One had a sticky rubber handle and was not the model shown on pic. Lid on the 2nd did not close fully. Returned those 2 and ordered 2 more. This time 1 is perfect (newest model & no quality issues) but the other is again an older model with a wonky lid that doesn't close fully. Not taking the time to return again. Company should only be selling the high quality, most current models. I believe it should say U/M5 2016 on the inside lid. My filter on one of them also does not say made in Italy as the other does. Does make a great coffee but come on get your stuff together. As many have mentioned, if you like coffee you need one of these, I only wish we had bought a larger version! We’ve tried lots of different coffee blends already - make sure you use the right ground coffee and follow the manufactures instructions. The pot is beautifully finished and looks to be hard wearing just ensure you keep it scrupulously clean after every use. Don’t leave it lying around with old coffee in it. One of the best things we’ve bought on Amazon. Bella!
