The Brother P-touch PT-P750W is the perfect office solution for those looking for a powerful yet simple to use label maker. Designed with built-in wireless network connectivity, the PT-P750W can connect wirelessly to desktops, laptops, tablets, and other mobile devices, or to wired devices. The pre-loaded labeling software lets you plug into nearly any Mac or PC computer via the included USB cable to quickly design and print labels, with the added convenience of using a keyboard, uploading graphics and logos, and more. The PT-P750W is incredibly flexible, allowing users to print from multiple devices, including Apple iOS and Android mobile technology. This feature is accessible via the free Brother iPrint&Label App. This high-quality label maker can also connect with NFC-capable devices(1), allowing you to touch to connect quickly. The PT-P750W is particularly well-suited to multi-label creation jobs thanks to its fast print speeds, repeat printing capability, and automatic half or full tape cutter. Choose from pre-installed label templates or make your own labels using the fonts, symbols and graphics already stored on your computer. You can even download additional label templates from the Cloud to add to your personal template library (internet connection required).Having the flexibility of power options also makes the PT-P750W a “must-have item” for office or home office applications. Users can power this device using the included AC cable or 6 AA batteries (sold separately) for use at a desk, or make it truly portable by running it on a rechargeable Li-ion battery (sold separately). My older brother P-Touch Edge was "borrowed". Thought I'd try this as an alternative. Being able to type on a "big peoples'" keyboard is a real plus, especially when entering a 50-person list of names and ID numbers, but the connection through WiFi was a challenge. Once that was worked out, the end product was very good. This Brother P-Touch labelmaker replaces one that has served me well for about 10 years. When I bought a MacBook with the M1 chip, I had to upgrade my labelmaker for the latest software to work. The Brother P-Touch PTP 750W offers both wireless and USB connectivity. You can make labels quickly from an AirPrint device like a tablet or smartphone, or use the desktop Brother P-Touch software for added design flexibility. The PTP 750W is an inkless, thermal printer and offers standard and high-resolution printing on laminated or unlaminated TZe tapes. The printer comes with a sample 24mm (0.94 inch) wide tape. You can purchase tapes from 6 mm to 24 mm in various print and label color combinations. I was surprised to learn that my vast inventory of TZ tapes do not fit this new machine. The high resolution print quality is good; the standard resolution print quality is not as good, especially with small print. The software works pretty much the same as it was 10-15 years ago, though updated with a few new options for multiple prints and cutting. The interface is "so-so" and I cannot lock the text fields in place, so they move when I click on the field to edit. An annoyance, though I do not use this printer every day.I recommend this updated version over the PT 700 for anyone who needs/wants AirPrint and/or wireless connections.I thought I was doing myself a favour by pitching my Dymo Labelwriters and going back to Brother P Touch - especially when I saw that this one doesn't require batteries, is a stand-alone, connect-to-your-computer label printer, had a bunch of features that I more than likely would never use (such as the NFC and/or wireless features), etc. Plus, this one has the added ability to add barcodes and images to labels. Bonus? Not so much.First of all, the quality of the printing of this machine is just as lousy as the P Touch line in all its various form factors and iterations has always been. Pixellated, often skewed, rarely nice and clean as the Dymo Labelwriters are. I really hoped the technology that goes into these label makers had improved over the last two decades these things have been mass-produced, but alas - nope.Next, I thought that at least the user interface on my computer would be better than that of Dymo's version. Again, nope. In fact, it's worse - WAY worse. Not only do you have to either try to figure out what does what to achieve the desired result or read through the ridiculous user manual, but by the time you THINK you have it figured out and click that Print button: WRONG! Back to the drawing board of options to try to figure out where you went wrong.Next up, connectivity is HORRENDOUS. In one day alone, I have counted (yes, I was so bloody irritated by this that I actually counted the number of times it happened) 55 TIMES that I clicked the Print button and I get that irritating dialog box that says, "Sorry, can't communicate with the printer!" So I shut down the software, unplug the printer itself, plug it back in, start the software again, select the printer from the Printer list, click Print, and cross my fingers that it'll actually print this time. NEVER had this kind of problem with my Dymos.Another sticking point is how much label tape is utterly wasted with the printing of each label. AT LEAST half an inch of label spits out before actually printing my label, and considering that at least a third of the time the label I actually NEED is only half an inch long, guess what that means? Yep, 100% waste factor with each and every bloody label printed. Calculate the cost per inch of this tape and you will very quickly get annoyed at wasting this much label tape for every bloody label printed!Another factor that I don't particularly care for is the fact that after awhile, the label printer will turn itself off. I don't WANT it to do that, because I get REALLY irritated at the fact that when I want to print a label, I'm back to turning it on, hoping the computer recognises it, loading/reloading the software interface, etc. just to print what should be a quick little label! How much electricity is this little thing using that it NEEDS an auto-off feature, anyway??In summary, I really, really, REALLY wish I hadn't chucked my Dymo Labelwriter Twin-Turbos into the bin before purchasing this lousy, overpriced, overhyped, under-delivering piece of hardware! More than likely I will be returning it. My Dymos might have been on the outdated side of things, but at least they printed cleanly, effectively, produced no waste, had a MULTITUDE of various label options, and just plain did what they were supposed to do! More than likely I will be packing this thing back up and hitting Return to Sender!Do yourself a favour: before clicking on that Buy Now button thinking that because this thing comes in a different form factor and has a few more bells and whistles than other P Touch models and is more expensive so it must be better, run. Run far, run fast, and don't look back. This ain't the label maker you're looking for!The PT-P750W offers so many different ways to connect and print that's it's almost a drawback. All this sophistication results in a somewhat confusing initial setup process. It can also be confusing when switching between the connectivity modes, but once you get the hang of it this printer works great.I was disappointed to find out that wireless printing is only possible with the included AC power-adapter or the optional BA-E001 Li-ion battery pack, but not with regular AA batteries. Getting the Li-ion battery significantly raises the overall cost of the solution, but is probably worth it for those that will frequently take it mobile, especially if they plan to use with their smartphone. I suppose it's good that the PT-P750W is sold without the battery to lower the cost for those that don't need it.Printing from my Windows10 laptop works fine, whether via USB cable with AA batteries, or via WiFi with the AC adapter. Printing from my Android phone also works well via WiFi or WiFi-Direct either one. I never could get NFC to work, but I think all it's supposed to do is launch the Brother app, so that's no big deal. The app sees the printer as soon as I fire it up, and detects what type of label stock is installed and how much is left. The Android app is handy. It provides a lot of templates, allows you save your own formats, and has good editing capabilities, but the Windows software is easier in the long run. The formats are compatible between the Windows and Android platforms, so you can manually copy them over from your PC and then print from your smartphone. What would really be cool is if the mobile app could link directly to your cloud storage repository!I've not tried the software-less "P-Lite" printing mode, and doubt I will. I selected this model specifically for the Windows software capability. The PT-P750W takes up no more space in my toolkit than the battery-powered QWERTY (but non-connectable) PT-1280 I've had for years. It also handles a wider range of label sizes, up to 1". I had planned to keep this printer in my office, but with all the functionality and portability, I'll probably take it with me sometimes.I've used the P-Touch system for probably 20 years, and the laminated labels have always adhered well and been very durable. The PT-P750W is a great addition to the product line for those that need the power of a connected device. This unit works well with the iPhone, without need of a computer. But every label it prints has a long trailing blank wasted label. I can't believe it doesn't cut the label at the end of the printing. You waste a lot of label media. (25% waste for the labels I would be printing.) You can "chain" the labels but that means printing them all at the same time which is not what we do. And it still wastes the label media when you do print it.My Win10 PC connects every time via USB, prints as expected, no issues. The WiFi (infrastructure mode) connects to my home network as expected, using DHCP. The WiFi (direct mode--printer creates its own wifi network) which shows up on my Android phone as expected. Unfortunately, the Brother label app for Android (from Google's Play Store) will not print anything using any of the 3 methods noted above, from my Android phone. I will be testing the Wifi (infrastructure) from my laptop when I have time, but that was not intended as my primary source device for creating labels. I want to primarily use my Android phone to create labels, then send them to the printer via one of the 3 wireless modes. So far, no luck. I have looked at Brother's troubleshooting information at "support.brother.com", but it has been of no value so far. I see there might be different Brother printing apps on the Play Store, so I may try a different app to see if I can get better results. The one I have tried is called, "iPrint&Label". Seems like an IOS name. Maybe the iPhone version works.Lots of trouble connecting this printer to wifi + documentation of printing protocols is not clear. Would avoid!Main thing is the at the printer does what it supposed to do and it does it well. The only minor thing is, it had a few scuff marks on the case.Other than that... Thumbs upLa impresora es buena, pero que es la segunda que compro en menos de 3 meses, pues se ha estropeada fácilmente con un golpe y tiene que instalar un montón de softwares para que funcione. Su precio no es barato y cualquier golpecito se estropea fácilmente.
