Things that make my life better this is in the top three. Being able to load the coffee maker without losing the aroma of the beans the night before is awesome. Have not used the programmable portion of it but that could be useful to a number of people who have a time constraint. Being able to come out and hit a button and come back in 2 or 3 minutes and have coffee is awesome. Having Ms early mornings or not easy to do fine motor tasks. Next to my walk-in bathtub this makes life worthwhileI really appreciate the design and simplicity. Brewing coffee from the bean is something it is hard to go back from. The freshness of ground coffee is just a few days, but beans keep for much longer.This particular design is good, easy to clean, and versatile enough to just use ground coffee if that is all you have.I like this coffee maker because the coffee is really hot and it brews quickly.I dislike it because the built-in grinder get condensation inside after coffee has been brewed. Also it does have many parts that have to be cleaned. I did buy a refurbished one.This coffee pot is fine I do miss the water sight gauge on my previous model, not a deal breaker.I purchased this unit to replace my previous identical model that worked perfectly for 7 years before becoming intermittent.. This one arrived in a box packed by Cuisinart, and although re-conditioned, it looked and operates as perfectly as a factory new machine (In fact, had I not been informed that this machine has been factory re-conditioned with new parts by Cuisinart, I would believe it to be a totally new machine.) I've already used it to make 3 pots of coffee and it has functioned perfectly each tine. At Amazon's selling price, the machine is a fantastic bargain. I recommend it to any "coffee purist" who (like me) prefers coffee produced by grinding whole beans.I like my coffee in the morning and this is probably my third machine over the years. After purchasing the first machine like this years, and I mean years ago, I refuse to settle for anything else. I put everything in the machine at night and the programming allows me to set the time to have the fresh coffee ready when my alarm goes off. Makes a great cup of coffee and much less expensive than making one cup at a time. If I don't have to be up at a specific time, no problem. I just have to push the button and it starts up. Fresh beans mean a fresher cup of coffee.I have to buy one of these about every 2-3 years because the grinder will eventually seize or stop working. I don’t mind because it’s a cheap machine that makes decent coffee. This “latest and greatest” model only comes with a glass carafe. I prefer a stainless carafe, which was standard on the previous model. Turns out... the old carafe works! Woo hoo!!My beloved coffee maker of 9 years was damaged in a move, so I bought this refurbished one to replace it (same model.) It arrived brand-spanking new! Just no paperwork or instructions. I love it because of the programmable features that let me prep at night and wake up to a freshly ground, freshly brewed pot of coffee!!!The only reason I'm not giving it 5-stars is because it DOES NOT COME with the reusable FILTER even though it's listed in the item description. I had to contact amazon, and they replaced the missing filter so that was nice, but an inconvenience.Ya anteriormente había tenido una cafetera igual, ésta funciona muy bien dentro de su tiempo de vida útil, sin embargo lo que no me gusto de esta compra es que no venía incluido el filtro de malla metálica, no lo devolví solamente porque afortunadamente aún tenía el filtro de la cafetera anterior.Muy bien.
