I bought these when I discovered a recipe for the sandwich... nay! Sammich of ultimate Glory! A nice soft roll made slightly toasty on a warming rack over the griddle plate, with hashbrown, bacon, sausage, egg and American cheese. Is your mouth watering? Well, you take the bacon grease from the griddle plate and drip it all over the hash browns.Anyway, these are necessary. You drop an egg white onto a griddle plate and it flows all over the place. These do allow for some of the white to spill out but do a great job, mostly, of keeping it all in one place until it solidifies so you can put it in the sammich. What I loved about them is that finger saving wee bit of cork on the top. This keeps you from being burned by the hot metal but it also lets you move them around if you need to. They are very easy to clean and so far, after an entire summer of using them, they havent stained. If I had one tiny complaint it is that once the eggs are cooked, I drop a slice of American cheese on them, and what tends to happen is the whole thing sticks to the metal ring, and you have to pry it off with a fork. Maybe that situation can be saved with some cooking spray but I usually forget. So something non stick, if thats possible, might have been better. But that doesn't take anything away from how much I love theseGave this one star at first. Months later it occurred to me that I may have added the egg too soon. I was right! Once the pan is hot before you crack the egg, the seepage is sooooo minimal it’s not worth mentioning! It helped a lot for forming eggs so they didn't run all over. There can be some leakage from bottom, but all in all most of the egg stays in the circle. Couple tricks. 1) Spray inside ring so egg doesn't stick to it. 2) Put ring on/in pan to heat up prior to cracking your egg into it. 3) If you can press down on ring handle when you crack egg into it. It doesn't take long for it to seal itself.PRO: I like these better than other ones because they have the wood handle so you don't burn yourself, and it folds down for storage.I love to have formed eggs for english muffins. Would I buy again? Yes.I use these for breakfast mostly and since I have a hard time finding hash brown patties I use tater tots that I let thaw (or when in a hurry I micro wave them for about 30 seconds) Then I place about 8 to 10 in the form and mash them together and season. The eggs and pancakes always turn out great. Also used for Salmon patties and hamburgers. Some of the eggs leak out of it. I realize I might need to heat it up to work correctly. BUT that's not why I'm here. It's also great for using a handmade burger mold. Fits most burger buns!Make the perfect sized fried egg for that sandwich or if you just like round fried eggs. The egg kinda sticks a little, but I use a utensil to ease off the egg while on the skillet when close to turning over. i found that coating the rings with a tiny bit of the bacon grease, or any kind of food release, works very well. (kinda of like making sure your waffles don't stick on that non stick waffle iron.) Cleanup is easy and any egg that does remain comes right off with a finger nail or some other non-abrasive sponge. I thought I had another pic but you can kinda see the egg under that wonderfully tasting ham and beans that I made in my instapot.Having used metal egg rings in the past, I knew what to expect from these. Such an easy way to make a great egg for Eggs Benedict.. or my fav an egg muffin sandwich. Get the rings hot (enough), put a sufficient amount of release agent (butter) on the ring itself and on the pan too, then crack an egg into the ring, cook a while, release the ring and cook the other side to your desired doneness. Yeah, they occasionally leak a little egg white, which after cooking the egg a bit is easily pulled away from the ring with a spatula. Clean up was a breeze. I'm very happy with these.Non-stick is a lie. Use non-stick spray or another form of fat to keep your eggs from sticking. Eggs do leak-out the , so ensure you have a good heat going before adding eggs of course. Ok to clean, but the handle portion tends to get egg stuck in it so I rotate the handle back and forth to push anything out that got in there and stuck.
