A vacation rental that we stayed in had this machine and I was impressed by how well it worked. I debated replacing by much larger Kuerig. I finally decided to try it. Here's what I found.Size- Much smaller than my older machine which makes the counters less clutteredFeatures- Less Features, but not necessary for me. That includes, on off timers and filtersWater tank size and easy of use. Much smaller, but easier to get to. Easier to fillSpeed- WAY faster than my Keurig. Makes cups almost immediatelyI found the cup sizes a little different than my Keurig. On the Keurig I used the 10 oz cup to brew, on this machine I use the largest size. The medium size was too strong for me.I love the clean look and the speed of brewing. After a few days I was happy to get the large giant out of my kitchen. I didn't use the features I lost. I love not having to wait to brew a second cup of coffee.Reviews have mentioned that the machine does not auto shut off. Mine shuts off after an hour. According to the directions you can adjust that. An hour is perfect for me. If I need to make another cup it heats so fast it's not an issue.Very happy with this machine after a week and hope they keep making it. Love it!I have switched over to Pod coffee because of this machine. It takes up very little counter space, works well, is fast, and if there is only one of us drinking coffee, the water reservoir lasts a few days. The reservoir is easy to fill though.I’ve had several Keurigs. Each one broke after just a few years. I finally decided to try another brand. I wish I would have done this much sooner. The taste is better, it’s easier to clean and I absolutely love it. If you are sick of replacing Keurigs then purchase this. You won’t regret it !UPDATE: After having this coffee maker for several weeks now, I've raised my rating to 4.5 stars. It really is a very solid, simple machine, much quieter than my Keurig, heats up very quickly, and I have to say that the coffee (same K-cups) does actually taste better. Not sure if this is water temperature and/or brewing method, but there is an improvement. Overall, my only real complaint is the small water reservoir - I get about 3 to 4 cups before needing to refill. If you have overhead access and a Brita pitcher or the like, you can fill the reservoir in place, but I have to slide out the coffee maker and remove the container to fill. I'd rather it was a larger unit overall with removable reservoirs on both sides.-------------------To be fair, I've only had this coffee maker for one day, but so far I really like it. It takes up less counter space than my failed (second one to fail) Keurig machine, it's easy to fill the removable container, and it does heat up quickly as advertized. Removing the used K-cup, it appeared to be slightly deformed or wrinkled, and my guess is that this is caused by a higher water temperature used by this maker, and that's generally a good thing. One thing is for certain, it's a LOT quieter and smoother sounding than the Keurig (which always sounded like there was an immense internal struggle involved in brewing a cup of coffee). As a few reviewers stated, for those of us who have been trained on the classic Keurig machine, it's going to take a while to remember to insert the K-cup and immediately close the lid; otherwise, the lights will simply continue to flash. The manual says that after initial power-up, there will be a 30 second preheat delay after first closing the lid before you can brew your first cup of coffee. Based on what another reviewer stated, it appears that this unit will only preheat and continue to maintain the preheated "ready to brew" state if the lid is closed - but I have not tested just turning the unit ON with the lid open for an extended period to see if this is the case. After the first cup, it appears to be ready to brew the next cup immediately. Regardless, Keurig users - close the lid first or you will wait all day for the lights to turn on solid indicating that it's ready to brew.NOTE: Both this machine and the Keurig (at least the classic model) are similar in that you have to wait for the unit to be ready before pressing a button to brew the coffee. Both units have a small microprocessor, and I simply can't understand why they wouldn't allow you to turn it on and as soon as you close the lid accept your button press to start the brew - then if it does have to preheat, at least you can walk away and come back to a cup off coffee rather than standing there waiting for the unit to be ready to go.One other minor thing (somewhat typical of many machines of this type) is that the water reservoir is too small. I usually brew 10oz cups of coffee, so at 48oz capacity, you have to fill it often. During the week I'll just make one cup in the morning before work, and it sure would be nice to get through an entire week without having to fill the machine, considering it is all I can do to push the button most mornings. Also a bit annoying is the fact that the "minimum" water level line in the canister (after which the unit will not brew) appears to be at least 10oz, so it certainly doesn't look empty but nonetheless needs to be filled. In my opinion, rather than using a larger water reservoir, a better design would be to have 2 water reservoirs, and the unit would empty one before switching to the other automatically. That way you could almost always brew a cup, and while brewing remove and refill the empty container.Nice size, attractive color, standard using instructions, easy reservoir to fill from front of fridge. Only complaint is it's noisy. You won't sneak into kitchen and quietly make a cup of coffee. Makes me suspicious it may not last as long as other brands. I'm still glad I bought it.What we wantedThis coffee machine heats up so fast! Makes a great cup of coffee. We've owned several Keurig makers over the years, but this time we decided to try a different brand, as Keurig quality seems to be less than what it once was. We went with this one because it was highly rated by Consumer Reports. Glad we did. It heats the water hotter than any Keurig we have had, thus created a more flavorful cup of coffee. My wife likes that it is so simple to use. Once you turn it on, it takes well under a minute for it to be ready to brew, so the lack of a timer is no big deal. As someone else has pointed out, our refrigerator dispenses filtered water, so we don't need a water filter in the coffee maker. And, it takes up less counter space than our previous makers. It's a little noisier when brewing, but that's a minor issue.Hands down, the best single-cup brewer we have ever owned. You can customize your three cup sizes and everything about using it is super simple! We love the reservoir that is just the right size. Not too small, not too big. Heats water in seconds. Auto-turn off is nice to conserve energy. Who wants to continuously reheat water 24/7? This brewer is so fast, you don’t need to reheat water at all. We’re so impressed with this brewer that when it kicks the can, we’ll get another. Great price for a simple, yet excellent single-cup brewer. Can’t ask for more.I have been using this little machine for a couple of weeks. this little machine heats up hot and fast and makes a good cup of coffee. The reservoir is small ( but I knew it would be) there are a few programmable features however programming is done through multi use buttons which I always find confusing . I like that it doesn't take up a lot of counterspace. The one major downside to this little machine is if you let the reservoir run down it will start melting your Kcups, The pump will try to keep drawing water, and you can smell the plastic melting! There should be some sort of shut off feature to prevent it from draining dry. So the bottom line is if you don't mind filling the reservoir often, this machine makes a good cup of coffee. WARNING do not let the reservoir run dry!!!I ordered this coffee maker as an alternative to a Keurig, which I have found to be less than reliable and long lasting. The very first time I plugged the Mixpresso in, the lighted buttons did not light. About an hour or so later, the lights came on with no input from myself. Then, for the next week or so, all looked good. Then suddenly, out go the lights again. That's when I decided that there was obviously an electrical glitch in the machine, which I was afraid that it might become a major problem later, so decided to return the item. The seller did not have a replacement, so had my money refunded.Had a Keirug, was alright. But had started needing to watch you tube on how to get it to work right. Put it upside down and pat bottom to loosen coffee grinds, etc. Plus found the Keirug big and bulky. So went looking for another one. Came upon this style. It had great reviews. I liked the look of it better. Using now for a couple of months and love it. Like that it shuts off automatically. Like the water tank. Easier to clean, can get your hand to bottom where the Keirug had tight fit on bottom with too many nooks and crannies. Tank doesn’t hold as much water as Keirug, but that is alright. Does my husbands two each in morning. Haven’t had to clean it yet but also haven’t had to stick paper clip up into the pointy spout like I had to with my Keirug to loosen coffee grounds. So so far so good.Worst coffee maker I have ever bought. Water was hot when I first bought it, now almost lukewarm. Will still try to make a cup of coffee when water runs out. Thankfully I was next to it when it started gurgling. I read another review that said it melted because it was out of water and still tried to make coffee, does not turn off
